The Magic of Piazzetta Fanfulla
The Typography overlooks with its dehor on Piazzetta Fanfullaso called confidentially by the people of Lecce but officially known as Piazzetta Raimondello Orsini. A fascinating corner where past and present merge, breathing in the unique atmosphere of Lecce, amidst medieval alleys and historic buildings that tell of centuries of tradition.
The small square houses the statue of Fanfulla of Lodi, legendary commander of the Disfida di Barletta, created by sculptor Antonio Bortone. Immortalised in the act of sharpening his sword, wrapped in a Dominican habit symbolising penance, Fanfulla stands as the surrounding square whispers the legends of the noble families that have passed through it over the centuries.
The exploits of Raimondellocount of Soleto and Galatina, husband of Marie d'Enghien, still resounds within these walls. It was he who united two powerful families, bringing peace and prosperity to the region. His exploits are alive in the wind that caresses this timeless corner, where today The Typography welcomes its guests with an experience that celebrates the quality, hospitality and rich history of Lecce.
